Floodwood is a city in St. Louis County of the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2000 lived in Floodwood 503 inhabitants.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.2 km ². Floodwood lies at the junction of U.S. Highway 2 and Minnesota State Highway 73
Demographics
At the time of the census of 2000, Floodwood was inhabited by 503 people. The population density was 441.4 people per km ². There were 290 housing units at an average 254.5 per km ². The population of Floodwood consisted of 97.22 % White, 0.99% Native American, 0.20 % Asian, and 1.59 % from two or more races. 0.80 % of the population to be Hispanic or Latino of any race. From the population were 48.5 %, to have Finnish ancestors; the other most frequently mentioned are 18.5% German, 6.5% Swedish and 5.9% Polish ancestry.
The residents of Floodwood distributed to 254 households out of which 22.0% were living in children under 18 years. 28.7 % married couples living together, 9.8 % had a female householder with no husband present, and 55.9 % were non-families. 49.2 % of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 26.0 % of all households aged 65 years or older.
