Fabakary Jatta

Fabakary Tombong Jatta ( born November 16, 1952 in Albreda ) is a politician in the West African nation of Gambia.

Jatta attended Armitage Senior Secondary School and on the Yundum College, he trained as a teacher. In Bansang he then worked as a teacher.

In the parliamentary elections of 1997 he (APRC ) has joined as a party member of the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction in the constituency Serekunda East ( Serekunda ) to. He was able to defend himself against his rival candidate Bakary Mariama Sarjo ( UDP), and Halifa Sallah ( PDOIS ). Also in the following elections 2002 parliamentary elections and 2007 parliamentary elections he won his constituency successfully.

In the National Assembly he took over the post of majority leader (English Majority Leader ) from 2007.

From 2004, he is also member of the Pan-African Parliament. Also in the following legislative period from 2009 he is a member of this Parliament and the Committee on Education.
