Fairchild is a place in the U.S. state of Wisconsin in Eau Claire County. In 2000, the city had 564 inhabitants. The next town is Cleveland ( Wisconsin), in about 1.8 miles away.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.8 km ².

History

In 1865, the first settlers in the present territory of Fairchild began clearing the trees. The village developed and in 1869 the first house was built in timber frame construction. This is until today. In 1880, the village was registered as a village and at that time had about 800 inhabitants.
