FC Dnepr Mogilev

Dnjapro Mogilev Mogilev and Dnepr (White Russian Футбольны клуб Дняпро Магілёў, Russian Футбольный клуб Днепр Могилёв ) is a Belarusian football club based in Mogilev. The club was after the independence of Belarus in 1992 of the founding members of the Wyschejschaja Liha, to which he belonged continuously to the descent 2011. His greatest achievement was winning the Belarusian Cup 1998.

History

The FK Dnjapro Mogilev was founded in 1960 as FK Chimik Mogilev ( Russian Химик ); he was the operation of a local football club synthetic fiber company. In 1963 it was renamed Spartak Mogilev ( Russian Спартак ). Since August 1973, the club bears its present name.

As of 1992, the team played in the first division of the independent Belarus and could prove top positions. Before the 1998, the club merged with local rivals Trans -mash Mogilev. The pooled team dominated the league and the new club won in the first year of its existence, the Belarusian league title.

In the Champions League 1999/2000 the team failed after two defeats at the Swedish representative AIK. Also in the league could not be tied to the success and we soon found himself in the back of the midfield the championship. 2006 was the team in the relegation battle, but was able to escape with four points clear of the relegation locomotive Minsk. A year later, the club benefited them as a table next to last, that from now on only the last descent. 2010 took part in the team at the CIS Cup, where they failed after a 1-3 defeat at the Kazakh FK Aktobe in the quarterfinals.
