FC Tom Tomsk

The FK Tom Tomsk (Russian Футбольный клуб Томь Томск / Futbolny club Tom Tomsk, scientific transliteration Futbol'nyj club Tom Tomsk ) is a Russian football club from the western Siberian city of Tomsk.

History

The club was founded in 1957 and entered the following years under different names. First was the team Burewestnik, but called himself quickly in order Tomitsch. In the third year of existence, the club won the third name, but had only until 1960 existed when the club back rebaptized in Tomitsch with Sibelektromotor. 1964 to 1967 and again from 1974 to 1978 joined the team as a torpedo. In between, the club was renamed Tomles. In 1979 the club ran as Manometr and in 1987 received its current name.

The club was for decades not place a greater success. It was not until the mid-1990s it began to improve and in 1996 reached the team even second place in the third Russian league (so-called second division), and narrowly missed promotion to the second division. The following year, 1997, the rise in the second Russian league (so-called first division ) succeeded. In 2004, succeeded as a table runner of the second division of the climb. That was the biggest success of Tom, who happened in the year of 400 anniversary of the city. The club has since played in the Premjer league and reached in his first season in 2005 to tenth place. After the season 2011/12 the team from Tomsk dismounted from the highest Russian league, but managed in the following season as runner-up of the 1st Division instant rise.

Stadium

The club plays its home matches at the 15,000 capacity audience Trud Stadium, which was built back in 1929. In the spring of 2008, the stadium was rebuilt according to the regulations of the Russian League.
