The founders communities Feldberg, Barental and Altglashuetten, are the three primary colors red, white and blue represents. The latter probably also recalls the closeness to the former Principality of Fürstenberg. The importance of the three circles is room for some speculation. Either there are glass beads that are reminiscent of the past of the glazier's trade or are the three lakes, which are adjacent to the district Titisee, Windgfällweiher and Schluchseewerk. However, they could also symbolize the unity of the three communities.
