Fields Corner (MBTA-Station)
Fields Corner is the name of a metro station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority ( MBTA ) in Boston's Dorchester, Massachusetts in the United States. It provides access to the Ashmont branch of the line Red Line.
History
Metro Station was commissioned as a temporary southern terminus of the Red Line into operation on 5 November 1927. At this time was held there trams and in addition there existed a turning loop for buses. On 22 December 2006, the redesigned entrance to the station was opened, but the renovations were completed only on 23 September 2008.

The underground station has two tracks that are accessible via one side platform.
Building
The metro station is located west of Dorchester Avenue. He is completely accessible. The building is named after the demolition of the elevated railways Atlantic Avenue Elevated, Charlestown Elevated, Washington Street Elevated and Causeway Elevated next to the stations Science Park, Malden Centre, Charles / MGH, Wollaston and Beachmont one of the few remaining elevated stations of the MBTA.
