Flint Generals

The Flint Generals were an American ice hockey team from Flint, Michigan. The team played from 1993 to 2010 in the International Hockey League ( 1993-1997 Colonial Hockey League from 1997 to 2007 United Hockey League).

History

The team was founded in 1993 as a franchise of the Colonial Hockey League. In the city they replace the dissolved in the same year Flint Bulldogs. His name, the team chose based on the same team, which was active from 1969 to 1985 in the International Hockey League. In the Colonial Hockey League, and later the next leagues United Hockey League and International Hockey League, they played in the next 17 years only. During this period, they each won twice the Colonial Cup, the championship of Cohl and UHL (1996 and 2000), and the Tarry Cup as point- best team in the regular season (1996 and 1997). Furthermore, they failed in 1997 and 1998 respectively in the playoff final for the Colonial Cup at the Quad City Mallards, and most recently in the 2009/10 season in the final of the Turner Cup at the Fort Wayne Komets. Then the team was disbanded.
