Francine Niyonsaba

Francine Niyonsaba ( born May 5, 1993 Nkanda Bweru, Burundi ) is a Burundian athlete.

The 1.61 meter tall high school student in royial Province, which brought a competition weight of 56 kilos in 2012, is trained by the Burundian national coach Nizigama Salvator. The gold medal winner of the Africa Championships 2012 in Porto Novo, where she set a new Burundian record with a time of 1:59,11 min, Burundi secured by Charles Nkazamyampi 1992, only the second African Cup of Nations in the country's history. On July 20, 2012, she improved the Burundian 800 -meter record again, as they in 1:58,68 minutes as second crossed the finish line at the Diamond League Herculis meeting in Monaco.

She stood in the six- man squad of the Burundian team for the Olympic Summer Games in 2012. In London, they started on the 800 -meter running track, improved in the semifinals once again the national record to 1:58,67 min and finished in the Olympic final with a time of 1: 59.63 minutes to seventh place. On September 7, 2012 Niyonsaba increased its best performance at the Memorial Van Damme in Brussels on 1:56,59 min.
