Freiherr von Blomberg

The widely branched noble family of the Barons von Blomberg comes from the 13th century from what is now the district of Lippe, North Rhine -Westphalia probably from the area of the same city Blomberg.

History

The family is on a Pawel Blomberg ( occupied in 1307 ) in Courland returned as ancestor. Gender is divided into three major genealogical lines:

  • The Courland line
  • The Lippe line
  • The Swabian line (12th - 14th century, off)

The lippische part and descendants of the family lives on castle and estate Iggenhausen in Lage (Lippe ), and bears the name of Baron von Eckhardtstein to Iggenhausen in the 19th century still as Blomberg- Iggenhausen.
