Friedel Tietze

Friedel Tietze, later Friedel - Kinzel Titze (* after 1908; † after 1953) was a German luge athlete.

Friedel Tietze was the younger sister of Martin Tietze, the most successful luge athletes of the 1930s. She got her brother and was barely 1938 and 1939 European champion of women. From 1937 to 1940 she was four times in a row, German champion. After the Second World War, they had to leave their home Brückenberg in the Giant Mountains and settled in the GDR. There, they competed for the SV Eintracht Bautzen and got 1952 - now married - under the name Friedel Tietze - Kienzel the title at the East German championships. 1953 she was again third in single seaters and when discharged for the only time competition for women's doubles.
