Jana Bode

Jana Bode ( * March 1, 1969 in Rochlitz ) is a former German luge athlete.

Jana Bode began before the turn of the sport of luge at ASK forward Oberhof. In Sarajevo it was in 1987 European Junior Champion. At the European Championships in Igls and the World Cup in Calgary in 1990, she won bronze medals. After the turn she moved to North Rhine -Westphalia and started for the BSC Winterberg. 1990, 1991 and 1994, she won the German Championship.

In 1991, she again won the bronze medal in 1994 in Koenigssee the Silver at the World Championships in Winterberg. The Olympic Games were extremely unsatisfactory with a 14th place. Their most successful season was in 1996, when she was both world and European champion and won the World Cup. At the World Cup the following year allowed Jana Bode, who had not qualified, solely because of their status ' compete as defending champion and won the silver medal. When qualifying for the Olympic Games in Nagano in 1998 they could not prevail against the competition by Susi Erdmann, Sylke Otto, Silke Kraushaar and Barbara Huber low and ended her career.
