Galguduud
Galguduud (Arabic غالغدود Ghālghudūd ) is a region ( Gobolka ) in central Somalia with a population of about 350,000. Its capital is Dhuusamarreeb. The Galguduud region is bordered on the west by Ethiopia, and on the east by the Indian Ocean. Northern neighbor region Mudug, Hiiraan and southern regions Shabeellaha Dhexe.
Galguduud consists of the districts Abudwak ( Caabudwaaq ) Adaado ( Cadaado ), El Buur ( Ceelbuur ) Eldheere and Dhuusamarreeb. The region is known for the mining industry, which is operated here; from the sepiolite found here are, inter alia, the spread in the Somali region Dabqaad made . The population in Galguduud belongs mainly to the Somali clans of the Hawiye and Darod. 2006 called Sa'ad Habar - Gidir - Hawiye in Galguduud and Mudug their own state of Galmudug.
