Gareth Williams, Baron Williams of Mostyn

Gareth Wyn Williams, Baron Williams of Mostyn ( born February 5, 1941 † 20 September 2003 in Evenlode ) was a British politician.

Williams was born in a taxi, which was located at Prestatyn in North Wales on the way to Mostyn.

After studying law at Queens ' College, University of Cambridge, he pursued a career as a judge at various instances in the country. He was raised as Baron Williams of Mostyn, of Great Tew in Oxfordshire to a Life Peer in 1992 and thus received a seat in the House of Lords.

After the election of the Labour Party in 1997, Williams was in various positions as under- Secretary of State and Minister of State member of the government of Tony Blair. He was appointed Chairman of the House of Lords and Lord Privy Seal in 2001. In this position, he supported the reform Blairs, aimed at limiting the political power of the hereditary nobility.

At the age of 62 years, Lord Williams died of a heart attack.
