The Geisberg is about 585 m above sea level. NN high hill of the Franconian Alb in the unincorporated area Geisberger forest in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg, Bavaria ( Germany ).

Geographical location

The Geisberg rises in the Franconian Switzerland Nature Park Veldenstein Forest within the Franconian Switzerland. It is located in the wooded forest Geisberger between the immediately adjacent municipalities of Strullendorf in the south, Litzendorf in the northwest, the Holy City in the east and also the unincorporated area Hauptsmoorwald in the West.

Northwest of the Geisberg is Melkendorf, a district of beyond lying Litzendorf, and north of the district Litzendorfer wage village. To the east are the Heiligenstädter districts Duke Reuth and Lindachstraße. The Strullendorfer districts Zeegendorf, Mist Village, Leesten lie south with Geisfeld in the southwest.

At the northwest edge of the small Geisberg Otterbach arises as aforesaid by the two districts Litzendorfer flowing left source stream of the Gründl One of Bach. A few kilometers east passes through the Heiligenstadt municipality of Leinleiterbach as a tributary of the Wiesentfels. On the Geisberg Bayerischer Rundfunk operates the transmitter Bamberg / Geisberg. From a 107 m high concrete tower FM and DAB broadcast.
