Gęsiki

Gęsiki ( [ gɛɕik ʲ i], German Meisterfelde ) is a village in Poland, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in the community Barciany.

Geography

The village is located in northern Poland, about ten kilometers south of the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast.

History

In 1353 the estate was created by Kulm law, as the commander Erwin Stockheim 32 Wloka country Heynman smith transferred. The land was freed for ten years from the payment of any expense. 1808 was the village school, which was attended by 20 children, in 1827 there were 27 pupils. After the Second World War, the village was part of Poland. In 1973 it became a mayor's office, the two villages have been assigned. Then it was in 1975 assigned to the newly formed Province Olsztyn. With its resolution, the village was in 1999 part of the Warmia - Mazury.

1817 lived 151 people in 21 residential buildings of the village.

Headman ( Sołtys ) is Julian Skonieczka (2006). To the mayor's office itself includes the villages next to the village Gęsiki Gęsiniec Wielki and Główczyno.

Główczyno has about 30 inhabitants and is located about two kilometers north of Gęsiki.

Traffic

Approximately 1.5 kilometers south of the village runs the Province Road 650 Węgorzewo, which opens into the Province Road 590, which leads to Korsze. From Gęsiki this can be achieved on a side road.

The nearest international airport on the territory of Poland 's Lech Walesa Airport in Gdansk about 200 kilometers away. The airport is geographically closer to the Kaliningrad airport about 70 kilometers to the north. However, this is located in the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast.

The village does not have its own rail connection. The nearest train station is located in about 17 km away Korsze.
