Ghyvelde

Ghyvelde (Dutch Gijvelde ) is a commune with 3239 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Nord, in the Nord -Pas -de- Calais, near Dunkirk.

The eastern boundary of the municipality is at the same time represents the border with Belgium

The town was destroyed to 92% in the Battle of Dunkirk and other hostilities of World War II.
