Gonzalo Alejandro Jara Reyes ( born August 29, 1985 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean football player who is under contract with the English club Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2013.

Career

Association

Jara began his professional career in 2003 at the Chilean club CD Huachipato, where he played 69 games in three years, while scoring twice. In 2007 he moved to the top club Colo -Colo. There he could develop into a regular player. In two seasons for the Chilean club top of the defensive players completed 64 games in which he had a hit.

In 2009 he moved to English club West Bromwich Albion. In the first trial Colo -Colo would have a total of three million dollars for Jara, it rejected the English club. However, agreement was reached in the second round of negotiations to 1.4 million pounds and so signed a three year contract Jara. His debut in the Premier League, he completed 26 September 2009 in the 0-1 defeat against Crystal Palace. His first goal he scored just two months later, on 7 November in a 2-1 away win against Leicester City. At the end of the 2009/10 season he was able to record 22 games and a goal in itself.

In October 2011, he was loaned to January 2012 Brighton & Hove Albion. However, the loan agreement on December 20 was terminated early because West Bromwich had a large number of injured players. On 31 January 2012, he returned on loan to Brighton & Hove Albion and remained there until the end of the season.

On January 10, 2013 Jara moved on loan to second division Nottingham Forest. After he graduated from there 17 league games, he signed on 19 June a one-year contract with the Reds.

National

Jara in 2005 he took part with the Chilean U -20 team at the U-20 Football South American Championship in Colombia and reached with his team while the fourth place, the person entitled to participate in the Junior World Championship in 2005 in the Netherlands. There, the team start with a furious 7-0 opening win against Honduras, to which he contributed with one hit, but was referenced in the 0:7 defeat to the Spanish young talent in the second group match after 45 minutes with a yellow and red of the field. Despite a 0-1 defeat in their final group game against Morocco, the Chilean team qualified as one of the four best third- placed teams for the knockout stages, where they lost to the hosts 0-3 and was eliminated. Jara is considered one of the three outstanding players of his team in the official tournament report and described as " defensive organizer ( Libero ) with good tackles ," the " rapidly induces counter-attacks ."

In 2006, completed his first two A- caps for Chile. And on April 26 and 27 in two friendly matches against New Zealand. The games ended 4-1 and 1-0 for Chile. During the 2006 European tour, he played games against Ireland and Sweden. In the 2007 Copa America in Venezuela, he played two games, including the 1:6 -off in the quarter- final against Brazil.

In May 2008, he took part with the U -23 national team as team captain at the Toulon Tournament. After a 5-3 victory over France and the respective 2-0 victories over the Netherlands and Japan, could prevail 2-1 against Ivory Coast in the semi-finals. This, however, he missed due to suspension. The finals they lost to Italy 0-1. Barely a month later, he scored his first international goal against Venezuela.

After thirteen games in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup and two goals scored, he belonged to the Chilean squad for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

Game style

Gonzalo Jara can play both indoor as well as legal defense. He has a very good positional play and is aggressive in the duels, but this also brings risks. Furthermore Jara impresses with his speed and good technique.
