Traffic management

The tracks of the Green Line C run on a separate track in the middle of Beacon Street in Brookline, but there are a total of 18 intersections with the road. At these points the rail vehicles must stop and follow the instructions on the signaling system. The signal circuit along the Beacon Street could theoretically optimized and the speed of the line are significantly increased, however, sees the MBTA, which would have to pay for the required new technical system, this project as not economically viable to. In 2007, the Boston Globe Letters of passengers who spoke out for the installation of new sensors on the track, a response letter to the MBTA, the first arguing for data collection in a study, and a further letter to the editor in which the MBTA released the escape was accused in excuses.
