Geography
Geographical Location
The municipality is situated on the United Oesingen B 4 Through the town flows the United Oesingen Wiehe.
Community structure
The municipality consists of the villages and hamlets small Oesingen, Mahrenholz, Zahrenholz, Texas and Schmarloh.
History
The congregation was Mr. seat documented evidence since 1222/1252. From archaeological excavations, the settlement has been dated to the 11th century. The village Oesingen lay on the important trade route from Hamburg to Braunschweig.
Incorporations
On March 1, 1974, the municipalities Mahrenholz and Zahrenholz were incorporated.

Coat of arms
The coat of arms depicts the upper half on a golden background two red sheep pens made of wood: the nichtheraldisch a right equilateral triangular with a goal, the other a trapezoid with detachable roof and two doors. In the lower blue area there is a golden post horn, before there are four branches with oak leaves.
