Guidimaka Region

Guidimaka (Arabic ولاية غيديماغا, DMG Wilāyat Ġīdīmāġā ) is the southernmost region of the African country of Mauritania, and is the sixth county in the country, covering only a small area.

The capital is Selibaby; Guidimaka divided into two departments: Selibaby and Ould yenge.

In the southwest of the Senegal River forms the border of the same State, in southeastern borders Guidimaka to Mali, on the northeast by the Administrative Region Assaba and to the northwest by Gorgol. In the 2000 census, the population of the region was 177 707.
