Gustavo Ayón

Gustavo Alfonso Ayón Aguirre ( born April 1, 1985 in Tepic ) is a Mexican professional basketball player. He plays the position of power forwards.

Career

Gustavo Ayón began his career in basketball team of the Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, where he was active from 2003 to 2006. In his last year he was elected MVP of the Mexican university championship. For the season 2006/ 07 he committed the San José State University to for their team to contest the Spartans, the NCAA. However Ayón decided his fortune in his homeland as a professional to try and signed for Halcones UV Xalapa. With these he won the 2007/ 08 and 2008/ 09, the Mexican championship. In 2009 he undertook the Spanish first division side CB Fuenlabrada, but gave it to the Venezuelan Marinos de Anzoategui Club, where he also captured the championship. The 2009/10 season began Ayón at BC Illescas, one associated with the team Fuenlabrada denied the third game class at this time, but was still awarded during the season in the second division Deportivo Tenerife.

His sporting breakthrough Gustavo Ayón in the season 2010/11. In CB Fuenlabrada he not only secured a regular place but was elected to the discovery of the ACB league season due to its strong performance as a power forward. Average he brought it to 10.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.

End of December 2011, he agreed with his club on a release to enter the North American professional league NBA, where he accepted an offer from the New Orleans Hornets. For the season 2012/2013 Ayon was transferred from the Hornets to the Orlando Magic.

In February 2013, the Magic Ayon transferred to the Milwaukee Bucks. Prior to the 2013/14 season he was committed as a free agent by the Atlanta Hawks.

National

Gustavo Ayón is since 2007 an integral part of the Mexican national team. With it he won the U.S. championship in 2013, he was judged to be the most valuable player of the tournament. Furthermore denied Ayón with Mexico, the U.S. Championships in 2007 and 2009 and the Central American Championships in 2008 and 2010.
