Haiti national football team

The Haitian national soccer team is compiled by the founded in 1904 Fédération de Football Haïtienne selection team of the Caribbean island nation of Haiti.

History

The biggest success so far reached the Haitian soccer players with qualifying for the World Cup 1974 in Germany. Here you had to in the first round Italy (1:3), defeated Poland ( 0:7 ) and Argentina ( 1:4). Both Haitian World Cup goals were scored by Emmanuel Sanon.

In 2007, the team the Caribbean Nations Cup win. They qualified for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2007. Haiti did not come there but beyond the first round.

By drawing of lots at the CFU Caribbean Cup 2008 Haiti qualified for the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009., Where Haiti lost the quarter-final against Mexico 4-0.

As part of the qualification for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa, the team met in the second round of CONCACAF to the Netherlands Antilles. The first leg ended 0-0, 1-0 in the second leg of Haitian perspective. This moved the team into the third round and met Suriname, Costa Rica and El Salvador. There Haiti difference, however, as a group of third parties.

Haiti took 13 times participated in the qualification for the World Cup, but could so far only qualify once. In the eternal table of the World Cup participants Haiti occupies the 74th place.

Because of the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010 organized satellite 1 on March 7, 2010, a charity match between the national team of Haiti and the "ran - Allstar - Eleven " in the pulse Arena. This won Haiti 6-2.
