Haniska, Prešov District

Haniska (Hungarian Eperjesenyicke - to 1907 Enyicke ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia with 650 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011) in Okres Prešov, a part of the Prešov Region and is the traditional landscape Saris counted.

Geography

The municipality is located in the northern part of the basin Košická kotlina on the left bank of the Torysa at the confluence with the delna. Right bank will last foothills of the highlands Šarišská highlands in the nearly 1.9 km ² large municipality into it. The center is located at an altitude of 233 m nm and is six kilometers from the center of Prešov away.

History

The town was first mentioned in writing in 1288 and belonged to local landowners. 1828 are listed 47 houses and 349 inhabitants.

1971-1990 Haniska was a part of Prešov.
