Extension

Expansion of high-speed line

The first Federal Transport Plan (1973 ) led the expansion route Dortmund -Hannover- Braunschweig as one of eight planned expansion projects in the field of railways. Also in the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 1980, the project was included.

In 1984 the business was taken up with scheduled speeds of 200 km / h in a 23.5 km section between Biickeburg and Haste. In 1985 he was a 13.0 km section between Hanover and Wunstorf. Thus, the 6.9 km long section between Haste and Wunstorf is not designed to 200 km / hr.

Expansion of the bottleneck Haste - Wunstorf

The bottleneck on the route from Minden to Haste - here the route is not expanded to four tracks on the important Ostweststrecke as in the western and eastern advance - is called the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2003. In the Federal Railway Infrastructure Expansion Act of 15 November 1993, the route is mentioned as a new measure in a prior need for demand. In published in 2007 investment plan by 2010 for the federal transport infrastructure an extension was not included. In the demand plan review, published in November 2010, the expansion was postponed due to a benefit-cost ratio of less than 1. Under these conditions, a construction of the section would not be permitted. The traffic should instead develop on the routes wages -Hildesheim - Braunschweig. Against this decision, there is a resolution of the Regional Council of the District government Detmold that expects a consideration of the route Ausbaues in the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2015. A 2010 estimated the cost of construction of the federal government according to the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2003 for the four-track expansion in the amount of approximately 900 million euros a.

Other sites

From April until the summer of 2011, the distance between Wunstorf and Minden was upgraded, replaced emerging and re-laid track. The passenger service was held on a single track, on the other was built.

As a replacement for the beschrankten crossings in Haste and scorn Horst flyovers are being built that will be completed by early 2015. In Scheller and scorn Horst also want noise barriers to be erected.

Transport supply

On the whole continuously electrified track run Intercity-Express, InterCity, Regional - Express trains and S-Bahn. In addition, there is a dense freight. Between Minden and Hanover RE trains (Braunschweig - Bielefeld or Rheine ) runs every hour as bunk sets and S-Bahn line S1 ( Haste - Hanover - Minden ). In section Wunstorf -Hannover S-Bahn traffic is compressed by the line S2 Haste -Hannover- Nienburg. This route is also traveled by RE trains on the line Hannover- Bremen-Nord dike.

Between Haste and Hanover, the tariff of the GVH applies, the district of Schaumburg is connected via a special season ticket fare with the GVH.

The route is in the range Hannover-Nord City Seelze sechsgleisig, between Hanover and Hannover Hbf North City viergleisig by separate S- Bahn tracks, expanded to four tracks through joint use of freight rail bypass between Seelze and Wunstorf, two tracks in the area Wunstorf - Minden. Freight transport needs to drive in this area again and again in the passing places to allow faster trains to pass.

A four-track expansion of the route as on the west adjoining railway line Hamm- Minden is planned. However, it is still controversial whether the existing route will be expanded continuously or whether Wunstorf should be bypassed with a new route from Haste to Seelze; Haste west of the existing line will be expanded.

The construction of one or two S -Bahn tracks between Seelze and Wunstorf is discussed on the part of the Hanover region.
