Hayley Lewis

Hayley Jane Lewis ( born March 2, 1974 in Brisbane, Queensland; since her marriage Hayley Taylor) is a former Australian swimmer.

Lewis made ​​his breakthrough at the age of 16 years, when in 1990 in Auckland won five gold medals at the Commonwealth Games, in the disciplines 200 m freestyle, 400 m freestyle, 200 m butterfly and 400 m layers and with the Australian 4 × 200 m relay. They also took a bronze in the 200m individual medley.

A year later she became world champion in the 200 m freestyle at the World Swimming Championships in 1991 in Perth. She won two silver medals in the 400m freestyle and 400 m medley and a bronze in the 200m butterfly.

In her later career, she focused mainly on the 800 m freestyle. Her best result they achieved in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona with a silver medal in the 400m freestyle she also won bronze.

She then moved to the long haul, and joined the World Swimming Championships in Fukuoka in 2001 over 5 km, where they finished third. She planned to compete in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens on the 10-km distance, but this discipline was removed from the Olympic program. That's why she ended her career on 22 November 2001.

Lewis has her own swimming school that bears her name. She is married and has two sons.
