Hayn ( resin ) is a town in the southern Harz in the district of Mansfeld- South Harz in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geographical Location

Hayn is located in the southern Harz on the road that leads from Harzgerode south through the mountains to Roßla.

History

Hayn was the property of the Counts of Stolberg and was the seat of a separate office in the county of Stolberg- Stolberg. Until 1815 Hayn belonged to the Electorate of Saxony, and then got to the administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony Merseburg.

From 1952 to 1990 Hayn belonged to the East German district hall.

On 1 January 2010 the municipalities united Hayn ( resin) Breitenstein, Breitungen, Dieter village, Drebsdorf, Hainrode, Bennungen, Kleinleinungen, Questenberg Roßla, Rottleberode Schwenda and Uftrungen the new community Suedharz together. At the same time the management of Community Roßla - South Harz was, was one of the Hayn ( resin ) dissolved.
