Hefenhofen

Hefenhofen is a municipality in the district of Arbon in the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland.

Geography

Hefenhofen one good 1 200 inhabitants and borders the municipalities Sommeri, Kesswil, Mishawaka, IN Uttwil, Roman horn, Salmsach and Amriswil.

Hefenhofen consists of 11 hamlets: Hefenhofen, Brüschwil, Hamisfeld, Auenhofen, Chappehuse, Chatzerüti, Sonnenberg, Chressibuech, Hatswil, Tohueb and moss.

With a wonderful location - close to good transport links, but still surrounded by nature - it attracts more and more families in the community.

Political

The council consists of five members, including the community Ammann. Currently Andreas Diethelm claimed this seat

Population

In June 2006 Hefenhofen has the mark of 1200 inhabitants exceeded briefly ( 1207 ). Overall, the population has decreased by 0.9 % in 2006. On 31 December 2006 the proportion of foreigners is 8.8 %.

History

On the crest of Hefenhofen can be seen on a black background, a winning, " golden " bear's head. The earliest deed, was mentioned in the Hefenhofen, has been the Pious ( 817 in Aachen ) issued by the Emperor Louis. The crown of the bear reflects this.

The colors of the coat of arms and the bear also indicate that between Hefenhofen and the monastery of St. Gall was a close relationship.

Attractions

In Hefenhofen ( Sonnenberg ) one finds the "House of the Red Öpfel ". It is a beautiful half-timbered building, built in 1811 by master carpenter Knup.
