Hertsa Raion

Rajon Herza (Ukrainian Герцаївський район / raion Herzajiwskyj; Russian Герцаевский район / Gerzajewski rayon, Romanian Raionul Herta ) is a raion ( administrative district) in the Chernivtsi Oblast, in western Ukraine. The center is the city of Rajons Herza. The Rajon is up to the three places Bukiwka, Ostryzja and Zuren in Herza area. He cross to the north by Rajon Nowoselyzja, in the southeast on Romania, to the south and west by the Rajon Hlyboka and for a short distance to the northwest by the Oblasthauptstadt Chernivtsi.

The Rajon was built in 1940 after the occupation by the Soviet Union and was intermittently between 1941 to 1944 by the year 1962. Thereafter, the area came to Rajon Hlyboka and was re-established on December 6, 1991. The population consists of 93.7 % Romanians, 5% Ukrainians, as well as from other groups ( Russians, Jews, Roma, etc.).
