Heyersdorf

Heyersdorf is a municipality in the Thuringian district Altenburger Land. In terms of population, it is the smallest municipality in the district. Heyersdorf is delegator with Ponitz community for Goessnitz, that is, that some administrative tasks Gössnitzer City Hall to be done.

Geographical location

Heyersdorf located north of the motorway 4 and northwest of the city Crimmitschau at the junction of Zeitz - Schmöllner - Lösshügellandes in the Vorgebirgslagen the Thuringian Slate Mountains and the Ore Mountains. History

Heyersdorf is first mentioned in 1296 in the Saxon church gallery. The oldest surviving parts of the church, the foundation walls of the nave date from the 13th century. The tower is younger. By 2012, it was assumed that the tower is the oldest part of the church is; archaeological excavations, however, refuted the. The tower was partially demolished in 1740. In 1805 the church roof and the tower received a comprehensive repair, the latter got a gold-plated tip. Another reconstruction learned the nave in 1833, when it was extended upwards and received the current west entrance. In 1858 an organ was installed by Christoph Opitz, who still is in original state.

Heyersdorf 1687-1688 was affected by witch hunts. Dorothea, widow of Michael Seiffart, got into a witch trial.

The school building was erected in 1890. Enjoying the character of a village road, a paved road was built through the town in 1865. In the years 1936 and 1937, a highway was built; for residents had to leave an area of ​​10.56 hectares at a length of 1.775 km. Partner communities

Official Partners municipality is the town of Württemberg Neuenbürg in the partner district of Altenburger Land, the Enz, due to the common occurrence with the city Goessnitz. 1993 Furthermore, there is a friendly relationship with Kieselbronn, also in Enz.
