Hola Prystan Raion

The Rajon Hola Prystan (Ukrainian Голопристанський район / Holoprystanskyj rayon; Russian Голопристанский район / Golapristanski raion ) is one of 18 Rajons the Kherson in southern Ukraine. The Rajon bordered to the south by the Black Sea, including large parts of the estuary of the Dnieper River in the west and goes to the north and east in the Ukrainian steppe. Central place of Rajons is the eponymous city Hola Prystan.

History

The Rajon Hola Prystan was founded in the wake of the reorganization of the administrative organization of the Soviet Union on 21 February 1923.

Geography

The natural area of Rajon is divided by two main aspects - the west and south of Rajon the landscape is dominated by the direct adjacency to the Black Sea. On the southern coast, there are nearly continuous sandy beach, which for example the tourism industry of the seaside resort Salisnyj Port benefited. Furthermore, the Black Sea Biosphere Reserve is worth mentioning that encompasses two large brackish water bays in the far west of the Rajons. Towards the interior, the landscape is mostly flat to undulating and dominated by the south- eastern European steppe landscape. The landscape is used for agriculture, which manifests itself in the summer through vast fields of sunflowers noticeable. During the Raion in the south and much of the north and west by the Black Sea is limited, it is bordered to the northwest on a short piece of the peninsula to the Oblast Mykolaiv ( Rajon Ochakiv ) and on the northeast by the Raion of Kherson and south to the Rajon Cyurupinsk, plus the southeast by the Rajon Skadovsk.
