IFK Värnamo

Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna Värnamo is a Swedish sports club from Värnamo. The football team of the club currently plays in the second division.

History

IFK Värnamo was founded in 1912. In 1930 the team was promoted to the third division in 1934, she managed a winning season Division 3 Sydöstra promotion to the second division. After an eighth place in the standings was achieved in the first year, she missed the league the following year. Following the direct re-emergence, the association seemed to be able to establish itself in the second division, but had to accept the 1941 re descent.

In the third division IFK Värnamo played for the return to the second division. 1945 reached the club the promotion round, failed there but after a 1:5 defeat and a 0-0 draw at BK Derby. The following year, he moved back into the promotion round and was able to prevail against AIK Finspångs this time, but missed in the second division again in the league. After a few years in the middle of the league the team in 1951 rose from the Viertklassigkeit and hovered in the following years until 1955 between the game levels. Then they played mediocre until the renewed decline in 1961.

After IFK Värnamo several times only just missed out on a return to the low ranks, succeeded in 1966, the renewed rise and the subsequent march through to the second division. Here she played three seasons for the league, followed before the crash in the fourth division after relegation in 1970. 1979 managed for one season to return to the third tier and until the next promotion in 1983 she was one of the leading teams in the fourth division. In the following years she commuted between third and fourth level of play. In the late 1980s she established herself in the third division, but had to descend again in 1995.

IFK Värnamo strengthened in consequence his name as a lift team and swung again between the leagues. Beginning of the new millennium the team has established itself in the third division. 2005 succeeded as a table fourth in the Division 2 Södra Götaland to qualify for the new two-pronged Division 1 Here, the club reached first multiple midfield places. In the season 2010, the club decided early fixed at the top, which was defended against the persecutors Qviding FIF and IF Sylvia up to the end of the season. As winner of the Season Club returned after forty years in the field in the second-tier league division club back. In the 2011 season they finally succeeded in the relegation against Väsby United in the league.
