Imsbach
Imsbach is a municipality in the southern thunder mountain in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Winnweiler.

Geography
The place is located in the North Palatine Uplands between the Palatinate Forest in the south and the thunder mountain in the northeast, which is the highest mountain in the Palatinate with 687 m.
To Imsbach include the residential places Langheckerhof, Meis Dell and Röderhof.
History
The village was established as a mining settlement for miners who found work in the nearby mines.

The local council in Imsbach consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Culture and sights
Remnants of mining
The historic silver and copper mine white pit, located 2 km outside the town, since 1979 visitor mine. In 2006, the mine Mary near a second show mine opened to the public. The Palatine mining museum in the town center is housed in the old school house from 1887 and shows the life and work of former miners. Trails like the Imsbacher pit loop trail and the Gienanthweg lead past historic mining and industrial plants.

Traffic
To the west of Falkenstein B 48, which is also the A 63 (Kaiserslautern - Mainz ) runs leads. In Winnweiler is a train station of Alsenztalbahn.
