Independent Foreign Fiction Prize

The Independent Foreign Fiction Prize is a well-founded by the British newspaper The Independent Literary Award for a non-English novel and its English translation.

The head of the Independent literature department is facing a jury of well-known writers and reviewers who prepared each year a long list, and finally a short list of six candidates before will be chosen in May of the winners. The prize was first awarded in 1990 but no longer distinguish between 1996 and 2001. During 2002 the price was revived with financial support from the Arts Council and has since been managed by the charity Booktrust.
