Jack 's Mannequin was an American alternative rock band from Orange County ( California).

History

The band originally started as a solo project of singer and songwriter Andrew McMahon, who is also the lead singer of the band Something Corporate. Together with drummer Tommy Lee Mötley Crües and producer Jim host the debut album Everything was recorded in Transit 2005.

The music is characterized by soulful ballads with piano accompaniment. Dear Jack Foundation

Shortly before completion of the first U.S. tour as headliners in 2005 acute lymphoblastic leukemia was diagnosed with Andrew McMahon, whom he defeated by a stem cell transplant thanks to his sister. He decided to set up a foundation called "Dear Jack Foundation " to support young people in particular who have received a cancer diagnosis in the fight against blood cancers and to improve their quality of life.

The work of the Foundation and the positive social impact was honored in 2008 with the "Good Woodie " mtvU Woodie Awards of, making the Dear Jack Foundation acquired an additional level of awareness.

  • The band name Jack 's Mannequin is a mixture of the title Dear Jack, the Andrew McMahon wrote and the band's name, which he had originally intended for the band, the Black mannequins. In this idea he came when he went one day through the city and noticed that there were very few black mannequins ( mannequins in English ).
