James Redfield

James Redfield ( born March 19, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama) is a popular American author. He is the author of several published in the world of books and editor of the monthly magazine, The Celestine Journal.

Life

He grew up in Alabama - in the southern U.S. - on. From the earliest times he was motivated to bring clarity to spiritual perspectives. Brought on family background to a Methodist Church, he was, however, quickly frustrated that there was to his questions about the true nature of spiritual experiences few answers. He studied Eastern philosophy and dealt with while Taoism and Zen Buddhism. He completed his major field of study Sociology at Auburn University with a Master 's degree. After graduation, he spent 15 years working as a therapist in youth work.

1989 Redfield finished his therapeutic work and decided to join his new interests and activities. In the following years he wrote his bestseller The Celestine Prophecy - An Adventure. Since he was not fast enough found a publisher, he finally published the book in 1993 itself, so it became one of the most successful self-published books of all time.

As an author as well as editor of the monthly magazine, The Celestine Journal Redfield is further involved in the formation of a new spiritual culture. He is committed to the protection of the American Forest and works with Marianne Williamson and Neale Donald Walsch together in the Global Renaissance Alliance ( GRA ). Basic principles of work of people in the GRA are to encourage people to be more violence and allow more spiritual values ​​incorporated into political systems. In March 2004, Redfield was honored by the Wisdom Media Group with the World View Award for his persistence in continuing the discussion about the " nature of human existence " with the effect of " improvement of humanity."

Today James Redfield lives with his wife Salle in Florida.
