Jeff T. Alu

Jeffrey ( Jeff ) Thomas Alu is an American musician, photographer, graphic artist and amateur astronomer. From 1984 to 1986 he studied at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester (New York) composition and piano. He deepened This training between 1989 and 1992 at the Chapman University in Orange ( California ) and graduated with a bachelor's degree in music from.

From February 1991 to April 1993 he worked as a research assistant at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. Since 1993, he created his own company in Irvine (California ) graphics and animations.

Between 1988 and 1991 he co-discovered or identified a total of 24 asteroids. He is also, along with Eleanor Helin and Brian P. Roman, the discoverer of the periodic comets and 117P/Helin-Roman-Alu 132P/Helin-Roman-Alu.

The asteroid ( 4104 ) Alu was named after him.
