João Resende Alves

João António Ferreira Resende Alves ( born December 5, 1952 in Albergaria- a-Velha ) is a former Portuguese football player and current coach. He has also stood in 2012 at the Swiss club Servette FC Genève under contract.

Career

Playing career

The Portuguese began his football career in 1972 at the Varzim SC. In his career as a professional footballer, he played mainly in Spanish and Portuguese clubs, one year he played, however, the French club Paris Saint- Germain. In 1985 he finished his playing career at Boavista Porto to seven club change. The greatest success of his career celebrated Alves at Benfica, where he won three seasons within two league titles and two-time Cup.

Between 1974 and 1983 he played 36 games for the national team.

Coaching career

His coaching career was 1984-2004 not crowned with great success, the only triumph which could João Alves recorded, was the Cup victory with CF Estrela Amadora in the season 1989 / 90th In these 20 years, he moved 13 times the club. Alone at Boavista Porto and at CF Estrela Amadora he was three times as a coach under contract.
