Jobst of Limburg

Jobst of Limburg- Styrum ( born April 19, 1560 in Borculo, † August 7, 1621 at Kasteel de Wildenborch in Bronckhorst ) was a nobleman. By descent Count of Limburg, by Heritage Count of Bronckhorst, Lord of Styrum, Borculo and Lichtenvoorde. Banner Lord of funds and Zutphen.

Life

Jobst was the firstborn son of Count Hermann Georg von Limburg- Styrum (* 1540, † August 27, 1574 ) and his wife Countess Maria von Hoya (* April 14, 1534, † December 28, 1612 in Terborg ).

He is first documented in 1569 in Cologne and Mainz called as canon, as he applied for an additional stipend as a canon of St. Gereon in Cologne.

In 1573 he was a page at the ducal court of William of Jülich -Cleves -Berg in Dusseldorf. In 1581 he was among the retinue of the Duke at the ceremonial throne of the Prince-Bishop Ernst of Bavaria as Prince-Bishop of Liège.

Marriage and issue
