Joseph J. Fauliso

Joseph John Fauliso ( born February 16, 1916 in Stonington, Connecticut ) is a retired American politician. Between 1980 and 1991 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Connecticut.

Career

Joseph Fauliso graduated from Providence College in Rhode Iceland. After a subsequent law degree from Boston University and qualifying as a lawyer, he began to work in this profession. After that he became a judge in Hartford. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. He was City Council in Hartford. Since 1966 he was a member of the Senate of Connecticut. Early 1980, he declared that he would refrain from further Senate candidacy. But, at the request of the then Governor Ella T. Grasso he let himself be swayed. After his re- election to the state Senate, he was there as President Pro Tempore acting president of that body. The official president was in accordance with the State Constitution Lieutenant Governor William A. O'Neill.

When Ella Grasso terminally ill with cancer, she went back on 31 December 1980 by the Office of the Governor. She died on 5 February 1981. Following this resignation Lieutenant Governor O'Neill was automatically becomes the new governor of Connecticut and Fauliso as Acting President of the Senate became vice governor. This post he held after two re- elections until 9 January 1991. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate official. His relationship Governor O'Neill was excellent. In 1990, both leaders gave up another run for their offices. With his wife Ann -Marie Joseph Fauliso has a son.
