Josh Howard

Joshua Jay Howard ( born April 28, 1980 in Winston- Salem, North Carolina) is an American basketball player and 2.01 m large small forward.

NCAA career and NBA Draft

Josh Howard played during his college years at Wake Forest. During his college days he led his team to the end of the regular season in first place. This success led to several awards such as the appointment Player of the Year by the American FOX network.

Despite its highly successful college NBA teams were not overly interested in Josh Howard. The Dallas Mavericks finally drafteten it to 29 point in the first round of the 2003's NBA draft.

NBA career

Many basketball analysts and journalists were of the opinion that Josh Howard could not meet the demands of the NBA. Only two months later, Josh Howard had found his way into the rotation of the Mavericks. Shortly afterwards, was due to the injury of Michael Finley the possibility for Josh Howard to stand for the first time in his career in the early line-up of a NBA team. He took advantage of this opportunity and rewarded Don Nelson's confidence with 17 points and 13 rebounds in his first game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The season resulted in a nomination by Josh Howard for the NBA All- Rookie Second Team. In Dallas, he played on the side of Dirk Nowitzki and after Nowitzki was as a second option in attack. In 2007 he was invited to the NBA All- Star Game. On December 8, 2007 Howard scored 47 points against the Utah Jazz a Career.

On February 13, 2010, he was traded along with Drew Gooden, James Singleton and Quinton Ross for Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson to the Washington Wizards. There he was injured after only a few games at the knees and fell for the rest of the season, who completed the Wizards at No. 14 of the Eastern Conference (NBA), from. The last year of his contract was a team option, which did not use the wizard. However, Howard has signed a new contract in Washington over 1 year for just under 4 million. December 16, 2011 Howard joined as a free agent with the Utah Jazz. But in Utah, he was not spared from injury. At season's end, his contract ran out with the Jazz and was not renewed.

On November 15, 2012 Howard signed a contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The contract was valid until end of season. Howard played 11 games for the Wolves before he suffered a torn ACL on December 14, 2012. On December 20, 2012, he was released from the contract.

In the season of preparation for the 2013/2014 season Howard tried to suggest with the San Antonio Spurs for a contract. However, he got no contract. Howard joined the Austin Toros then from the NBA Development League to order from there to make a return to the NBA.
