Juan Manuel Blanes Museum

The Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes " Juan Manuel Blanes " (in German: Municipal Museum of Fine Arts " Juan Manuel Blanes" ) is a 1930 opened museum in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo.

The museum, which is named after the famous Uruguayan painter Juan Manuel Blanes, is located in the neighborhood ( barrio ) Aires Puros in Avenida Millan 4015 in a 1870 built building, whose style reminds the classical Renaissance villas in Italy.

In him also paintings of other Uruguayan painter Pedro Figari such as, Alvaro Amengual, José Cuneo and Rafael Barradas, but also by foreign artists such as Courbet and Vlaminick are exhibited alongside the works of the eponymous artist.

The building is surrounded by a large park in which there is a 2001 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Uruguay and Japan eröffneter Japanese garden.
