Juojärvi

The Juojärvi is 219.54 km ² large lake in eastern Finland. It lies at an altitude of 101 m. The lake is located within the municipal boundaries of Heinavesi, Liperi, Outokumpu and Tuusniemi. He is one of the cleanest lakes in the country. On the south bank the monastery Uusi Valamo is located.

About the waterway Juojärven reitti is the lake with south-west to Varisvesi, which belongs to a lake Iso - Kalla, connected. The height difference between the two lakes of 19 m is exploited by Palokki hydropower plant with an installed capacity of 7.4 MW.
