Tuusniemi

Tuusniemi is a Finnish community in the countryside Savo.

Towns

The municipality includes the villages of Enonsalo, Hauranki, Juurikkamäki, Jänissalo, Kartansalo, Kiukoonniemi, Kosula, Laukka -aho, Leppäranta, Litmaniemi, Lohilahti, Miettilä, Ohtaanniemi, Paakkila, Susi Niemi, Syrjäsaari, Tuusjärvi, Tuusniemi, Ukonlahti and Viitamäki.

Policy

Parish council

As in most rural areas of Finland is in Tuusniemi the rural - liberal Centre Party, the largest party. In the local elections in 2012 she won an absolute majority in the Council despite losses with 45 % of the vote and 11 out of 21 deputies. The Social Democrats represent with three seats, the second strongest faction. In addition, the conservative National Coalition Party, the right-wing populist True Finns and the Left Alliance are represented by two seats in the municipal council. The Christian Democrats have a representative.

Twinning

Tuusniemi maintains since 1990 a city partnership with Prjascha in Russia.
