Rautalampi is a Finnish community in the countryside Savo.

Towns

The municipality includes the towns of Haapamäki, Hanhitaipale, Hankamäki, Horontaipale, Ihalainen, Kerkonjoensuu, Koipiniemi, Kuuslahti, Rautalampi, Sonkarinsaari, Toholahti and Vaajasalmi.

Parish council

Dominant political force in Rautalampi is the rural - liberal center party. She arrived at the municipal election of 2012 after significant vote gains of over 43 % of the vote 10 of the 21 seats in the municipal council and just narrowly missed the absolute majority of seats. They are followed by the right-wing populist True Finns with four seats. Also represented in the municipal council, the Social Democrats with three deputies and the conservative National Coalition Party, the Left Alliance, the Greens and the Christian covenant with one representative each.
