Vesanto

Vesanto is a Finnish municipality in the countryside Savo.

Towns

The municipality includes the villages Ahveninen, Harinkaa, Horonkylä, Kuuslahti, Niinivesi, Närhilä, Oinaskylä, Tiitilänkylä, Sonkari, Länsi- Vesanto, Vesamäki and Vesijärvi.

Policy

Parish council

As in most rural areas of Finland is in Vesanto the rural - liberal Centre Party, the largest party. At the municipal election in 2012, it reached about 65 % of the vote and 15 of 21 MPs a two-thirds majority in the Council. The right-wing populist True Finns and the Social Democrats have three seats. The conservative National Coalition Party lost three quarters of their vote and their three seats in the municipal council.
