Kenneth O. Hall

Kenneth Octavius ​​Hall ON, GCMG, OJ ( born April 24, 1941 in Lucea, Jamaica) was of 15 February 2006 to 26 February 2009, General Governor of Jamaica. He worked at various universities in the United States, Canada and Jamaica.

Hall was originally a teacher in Lucea. 1966 to 1973 he worked in various positions at the University of the West Indies and Queen's University in Canada. 1974 received a professorship at the Hobart and William Smith College in New York. Later he moved to the State University of New York, where he held senior posts in the administration. The highlight of his academic career is the vice-presidency of the University of the West Indies in Kingston.

On 15 February 2006, he was appointed by Elizabeth II on the recommendation of Prime Minister Percival J. Patterson to the Governor-General. In this office he represented the Queen in ceremonial duties and appointed by order of the government ministers. For health reasons, he resigned in February 2009. His successor took over Patrick Allen.
