Order of the Nation
The Order of the Nation is a Jamaican award, which was originally only given to Jamaican governors general. It is the second highest award from the Jamaican government ceremony. The Order was introduced in 1973 with a supplement of the National Honours and Awards Act. In 2002 it was decided to award the Medal to all the Prime Minister, that have not been honored as a national hero of Jamaica.
The motto of the Order is " One Nation Under God " ( German: " One Nation Under God "). The members are entitled to wear the religious character and are also empowered to readjust their name the letters ON (so-called post- nominals ). The address for the members as well as their spouse is " The Most Honourable ".
Order characters
The religious character of the Order of the Nation consists of a twelve -pointed breast star, in the center the Jamaican national coat of arms is on a background of red enamel in gold. The coat of arms is surrounded by the Order motto in golden letters on grünemailliertem reason. Each is a golden pineapple between the points of the star. Is supported, the Order on a wide, glossy red silk sash with narrow green strip at the edge.
