Kevin Lotscher

Kevin Lötscher ( born February 17, 1988 in Visp ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player. About three years after he was the victim of a serious traffic accident, he finished in February 2014 at the age of 25 years, his career as a player after he continued to suffer from the consequences of the accident. His father Martin Lötscher was also a professional hockey player.

Career

Kevin Lötscher began his career as a hockey player in his home town of Visp in the junior teams of the local ice hockey club EHC Visp, before he moved to the junior organization of the SCL Tigers of the SCL Young Tigers. There, he scored 14 goals in 14 games and played his first eight games in the National League A with the SCL Tigers. At the same time he played in the National League B for the Swiss U-20 ice hockey team.

After a temporary detour to the first team of the EHC Visp in the season 2006/ 07 he returned to the Swiss U-20 ice hockey team. For the 2007 /08 season he was transferred to the canton of Vaud Lausanne HC. There, he scored 12 goals in 34 games and contributed 16 assists for. After a long courting of the big grown winger HC Sierre from the French- speaking part of the Valais signed him for the 2008/09 season in which he scored 30 goals and 29 assists helped.

In 2009 he was obliged by EHC Biel. With the winning goal for 3-2 in the League qualifying against the NLB Master Lausanne HC he secured for his club in the season 2009/10 before a home crowd in the league. In December 2010, the striker signed a contract for two years at the SC Bern with effect from the season 2011/12.

Accident

THATCHER was hit on May 14, 2011 in Sierre by a car and seriously injured. The 19 -year-old accident charioteer was 1.56 per mille of alcohol in the blood. Since this accident Lötscher completed no official hockey game for Switzerland more.

Through his accident in May 2011, he could deny no longer a game for the SC Bern. For the National League B- Club HC Sierre he played in the 2012/13 season as Players out on loan regularly with the season and has completed there. Over the entire season, it brought Lötscher to 50 second division operations, in which he scored three goals and prepared another eight. In January 2013 it was announced that the SC Bern will not renew the contract.

Since the Treaty of Kevin Lötscher ended with the SC Bern, he had to start looking for a new club. The EHC Biel offered him a contract for the season 2013/14. There he brought it only to three inserts in the top Swiss league and was awarded immediately in December 2013, the NLB HC Ajoie. At the club from Pruntrut he was able to complete 14 league games before the age of 25, he announced his final career as an active end in February 2014.

Internationally

For Switzerland Lötscher participated in the U18 Junior B World Cup 2006, the U20 Junior World Championships in 2007 and 2008 and on the A- World Cup 2011 part. In the U18 B Championship with his team, he managed to climb into the A-WC. Overall, he played in international tournaments 17 junior internationals for his country, where he scored three goals and had eight assists. For the World Cup 2011 he stood for the first time in the squad of the national team in an international tournament, scoring in the last game of the Swiss against the United States two goals for a 5-3 victory that was not enough for a place in the quarter-finals.
