Kostryzhivka

Kostryschiwka (Ukrainian Кострижівка; Russian Кострыжовка / Kostryschowka, rarely Kostryziwka German, Romanian Costrijeni or Costrijiuca, Polish Kostryzówka ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukrainian Chernivtsi Oblast. It is located in the north of the oblast on the border of Ternopil Oblast on the right bank of the Dniester, on the opposite bank is the city of Zalischyky, about 42 kilometers north of Chernivtsi.

The settlement was first mentioned in writing in 1742 and then to 1776 belonged to the Principality of Moldavia, then it was up to the end of the first World War, a part of Austria -Hungary in Bukowina. 1898 was the place one in the course of construction of the local railway Luzán - Zaleszczyki a rail connection, after the end of World War II, he came to Romania (in the circle Cernăuţi ) and was a border town to Poland. Because of the annexation of Northern Bukovina on August 2, 1940 he was again a part of the Soviet Union ( 1941-1945 intervening turn to Romania) and is since 1991 a part of the Ukraine.

In 1959 she was awarded the status of an urban-type settlement, at the same time until then independent municipality Luka was the settlement area incorporated.
